Born on January 31st in Solihull, England, James Loone aka Chronicle always had a passion for music. He grew up listening to artists such as Tupac, Notorious BIG, Wu-Tang and Public Enemy whilst everyone around him were consumed and brainwashed by mainstream music.
From the age of 12, Chronicle was writing his own music. But, not as you know it, he started off by putting pen to paper and writing rhymes. He would do this whenever he got the time and he would stay up late for hours constantly writing until he filled his pad.
When he was 13 his brother, Lance Loone, gave to him an album that would truly change his life forever. The album was “Black Snow” by Underground Hip-Hop production group “Snowgoons”. The way they mixed epic, hard hitting beats with raw and gritty rhymes, inspired him to do exactly the same.
Many months past and James was falling behind in school. He spent all his time writing rhymes now, in and outside of school, even in class he was noting down whatever came into his head inside of his work books but as he did this his eyes were set on a music production software named FL Studio 8.
With money accumulated from his Christmas and Birthday’s he managed to pay all the money needed for this software and so he began to create beats. At first, he found it difficult to make beats, but after a while he became very used to using the software on his old, slow, broken down laptop. This became his new addiction, when he was at home, he wouldn’t be seen without the laptop on him with FL Studio open. He spent all his free time making beats and all his school time writing rhymes, everything else; including school was secondary to him. At 13 years old, Hip-Hop was James’ life.
When he turned 14, he took his music to a higher level. Hoping to get recognised by someone, he started posting his beats on the social networking site, Facebook and after months of this, his hard work had finally paid off as he slowly gained the respect of other Underground artists and fans. It was not soon after this; Reto Gaeumann contacted him enquiring into weather he was interesting in forming a production group. James accepted and here is now, around one year later.
No longer is he working on FL Studio on an old, broken laptop, but Logic Studio on an Apple iMac. Everyday he thinks of something new and as he slowly falls more and more behind on his work at school, he edges closer and closer towards achieving his dreams.
